Chop up some notes, drill in some tunes and hammer up a few beats this April. Join us as we explore the art of instrument making with DIY woodworking and metalworking techniques. Get a basic know on musical theory and understand the science of creating musical instruments with wood, metal and other materials.

10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
10:00 – 10:30 : Music Theory (fundamentals)
A brief introduction into music theory and basic overview to help the understanding of constructing musical instruments.
10:30 – 11:00 : Mechanics of musical instruments
The how of instrumentation. An overview on the functionality of various kinds of instruments.
11:00 – 11:30 : Material compositions for making instruments.
Understanding materials that define the kind of sound one would desire to emulate.
11:30 – 12:00 : Experimental Tinkering
Application through emulations of natural sounds (experimental) opening out.
12:00 – 1:00 : Ideation and Concept generation
1:00 – 2:00 : Break
2:00 – 5:30 : Constructing a musical instrument (stringed and percussive)
