Always wanted to build your own drone from scratch, or just fascinated with flying, this workshop is made for you! Join us on Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of August, 2019 for a practical, HANDS-ON, introduction to drone building and flying, as we prototype, and experiment and learn to fly a drone from scratch with the experts from MAKERMATICS, Bangalore. The workshop is intended for all beginner levels participants.

WHAT: Introduction to drone building and flying

COST: 1800/- per head (These costs do not include any hardware. Students will gets hands on experience in making the drone. All hardware will be collected back at the end of workshop. Students can buy the hardware by paying INR 5500/- over the workshop fee.)

11 Understanding MPU 6050
12 Angular data and Angular Rate data
13 Arduino-MPU6050 connections and coding
14 Yaw-pitch-roll
15 Reading joystick data on serial monitor
16 Learning WIFI module NRF24L01 & interfacing with Arduino for wireless readings
17 Basic PID tuning and how it works
18 Balancing quadcopter using sensor readings & PID tuning
19 Using remote controller values with PID values to stabilize & trim the quadcopter readings
20 Flying the quadcopter

– THE Workshop facilitators will be on hand to mentor participants on the correct usage of all the above listed tools as well guide them through the Design Thinking process of prototyping
– Participants MUST WEAR CLOSED-TOE SHOES (no sandals, no chappals) for the duration of the workshop and strictly adhere to Safety Procedures mentioned during the Safety Induction at the start of the session.
– We will also guide participants where to get which tools, what to look for when buying tools for DIY activities and what should be fair prices for such equipment.
